The charity's objective as Set out in the constitution is to provide a home for aged person5 of 60
vear5 and upward of unexceptional character, preference being given to persons who have for
three years or upwards resided in the Civil Parish of Hurstpierpoint and Sayers Common or
within the neighboltring parishes of Albourne, Clayton or Keymer.

The position of Chair was uncertain for the *irst four months of the financial year, and
consequently, all matters were dealt with by the Trustees. However, because of the Fire, on 12
May 2022, The Reverend Jane Willis re-a55umed The Chair.
The 2023 financial year, marked the final year of major fire repair being undertaken.
returning St. Christopher's Home to a fully operational condition. The Trustees look
forward to all room achieving full occupancy from 2024

Independent examiner's report to the Trustees of St Christopher's Home for the
Aged
I report to the trustee5 on my examination of the accounts of St Christopherfs Home for the
Aged (the Trust) for the year ended 31st December 2023, which are set out on pages 2 to 6.
Re5pon5ibilities and basi5 of the report
As the charity trustees of the Trust, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in
accordance with the requirement5 of the Charitie5 Act 20111'the Act'l.
I report in respect of my examination of the Trustees, accounts carried out under section 145
of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable
directions given by the Charity Commission under section 14515llbl of the 2011 Act.
Independent examinerfs statement
I have completed my examination in accordance with the general directions given by the
Charity Commission. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in
connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:
111 accounting records were not kept in respect of the Trust as required by section 130 of
the Act; or
121 the accounts do not accord with those records; or
131 the accounts do not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and
content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008
other than any requirement that the accounts give a 'true and fair view, which is not a
matter considered as part of an independent examination.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the
examination to which attention should be drawn in this report to enable a proper
understanding of the accounts to be reached.
