The Trust is managed by th¢ five designated Trustees working entirely on a voluntary basis and all live in I larefield. Tlie
Trust has no chief executive officor or staff to whom the day-to-day management is delegyated. To a55is1 wilh the

The Trust, in additioTJ to being a registered charity, is a registered provider of the Homes and Cominunilies Ageiicy. It is
also a m¢mber of the Almshous¢ Association and the Iiidependent Housing Ombudsman Scheme.

relief of need in the Ancicnt Parish of Harefield. The Trustees pursue the same objective today. All income derived from
the Trust's activilics and endowments less Ihal paying for mainl¢nanL¢ and s¢rvi¢ing a ¢onsidirdblc mortgyage, provides
public benefit.

a¢tivities for the young of the village - a publi¢ benefit. The rent from these provides additional income for the Trust.
Th¢ financial endowments from the four other ancient charities {Mrs Ashby, Poor's or fuel Allotmeiit, Henry Goodman
and Ashford & Moore Charitie5) are invested by thc Official Trustees of Cliaritabl¢ Fund5. Whilc the endowmeii15 are
restricted they provide welcome dividend income which assis15 in fijnding public benefit5.
Achievements and performance
Jii general tlie Trust's properties and grouiids were all in good order throughout the y¢ar and were well covered by the
insuraiice policies maintained.

Accounting policies
The principal accounting policies are summarised below. The accoiinting policies have been applied consistently
throughout the year and the preceding year. The transition to FRS 102 has resulted in iio changes in accounting

1.4. Fndowment funds

stalemenl of finai)cial activilies.
1.5. Income
All income is included in th¢ stat¢m¢nt of finan¢ial a¢tivilie8 when the Tru.st i.s entitled to the income and the
amount can bc quantified with reasonable a¢¢ura¢y. Th¢ following spc¢ific poli¢ies are appli¢d to particular
cate¥orie$ of in¢ome'.

1.6. Expenditure
Expenditure is recognised on an ac¢rual basi5 as a liability as incurred. Expenditure includes any VAT which
annot be fully recovered, and is reported a5 part of the expenditure to which it relates.
Charitable expenditure comprise5 those costs incurred by the Trust in the delivery of its activities and servi¢¢s for
its b¢n¢fi¢iaries. It includes both costs that can be allocated directly to Such activities and those costs of an
indirect nature necessary tQ SVPPOrt Ihem.
Governance costs are those costs a550Giated wilh meeting the coiistitulional and slatulory requirements of the
charity and in¢lude the audit fees and e05ts linked to the strategic management of the Trust.

1.7. Tangible fixed assets and depreciation
Tangible fixed assets are stated at cost less accumulated depreciation. Depreciation is provided at rates Calculated
to write off the cost or valuation less residual vlllue of each asset over its expected usefvl life, as follows:

No taxation has been provided in the financial statemenl as the Trust applies all income to it5 cliaritable objective
and is exempt in accordance with Seclion 478 of the Corporation Tax ALt 2010.
