Chairman's Report 2026
It’s been a busy year since I took over last year.
Doug has been a tough act to follow! My thanks go to him and Carol for their efforts over the years and their continued support
We were lucky enough to be offered substantial funding from the Parish Council for refurbishing the loo’s - at a cost of £73,278
We have also continued the refurbishment program started last year, in particular

The Horticultural Society were kind enough to donate a tree to celebrate their 80th anniversary.
The hall continues to be incredibly busy - with typically over 70 bookings per month with diverse functions such as Keep Fit, Amateur Dramatics, Bowls, Ballroom Dancing, Yoga and various art groups.
Also many meetings and events for clubs and societies such as the Parish Council, Sailing, Horticulture, RNLI, are held here.
Finally one-off events such as craft fairs, jewellery valuations, weddings etc
Our plans for 2026/7 include
Repointing the patio area - already started
- Opening a cinema and showing National Theatre Live screenings (more of this later) Creating a social media presence of our own
We are reluctantly having to increase our charges in 2027 as they have remained constant since 2023 and the cost of running the hall is forever increasing with inflation. However the rise of approximately 10% is comparatively modest and we are still one of the cheapest venues in the area.
My thanks to all the committee members for their support - particularly Pat our treasurer, Sarah & Bridget as joint secretary, Jan for running the bookings and Tony for managing the solar panel installation. The whole committee has been a great help. And of course Doug for his continued advice.
I’d also like to thank all our regular users for their continuing support of the hall and look forward to another busy year ahead.

CHARITY COMMISSION FOR ENGLAND AND WALES Independent examiner's report on the accounts Section A Independent Examiner's Report Report to the trusteesl members of West Wittering Memorial Hall On accounts for the year ended 31 December 2025 Charity no (if any) 210021 Set out on pages 1and2 I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above chartty ("the Trust.) for the year ended 3111212025 Responsibilities and As the charity trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the basis of report accounts in accordance with the Charities Act 2011 ("the Acr). I report in respect of my examination of the Trust's accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act. Independent I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have examiner's statement come to my attention in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect,: the accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Act; or the accounts did not accord with the accounting records; or the accounts did not comply with the applicable requirements conceming the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a 'true and fairf view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.
