OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES
Oblectlves and aims
The provision and maintenance of almshouses for persons in need in the area comprising the town
of Normanton, the Parishes of Sharlston arbd Warmfieid-cum-Heath and the area of the former
Parish of Ackton and Snydale. all in the county of West Yorkshire.
Subject to the above, the Trustees shall applythe income of the charityforthe benefit of the
resi(Jents in the almshouses of the charityorany of them in such manner as the Trustees think
fit from time to time.
The Trustees continue to ensure thatthe charity￿l[l[lS the requirements set out in the scheme.
Careful management ofthe charity" s assets. including considerable attention tothe maintenance
and refurbishment of the properties and the grounds. ensures that the charity provides residents
with comfortable. affor(iable homes that meettheir special need5 and enablethem to live
independently.
Slgnlffcant activities
The principal activityofthe charty is to provide social housingforthose in need in the area of
benefice, suitable forthe eldertyorwith mobility needs.
STRUCYURE. GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT
The charity is governed by a scheme date(i l May 1987 as amended on 5 November2008.

the basis of frtarket value subject to existing tenancies at £1,345,000. The valuation was
carried out by MrAlex McNeil MRICS. of BTamleys, Chartered Surveyors. Huddersfield.
The charity. s properties at Kirkthorpe Lane. Wakefield were valued on 17Apri12024 on the
basis of marketvalue subjectto existingtenancies at£400.000. The valuation was also
carried out by Mr McNeiL
