REPORT OF THE TRUSTEES FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 DECEMBER 2023
The Iruslees present their report for the year ended 31 December 2023.
Constitution & Objects
The Organisation was established by a Chancery scheme of 25 July 1923 and Charity Commission
scheme of 3 March 1953. It is registered with the Charity Commissioners, (Number 2087951 in accordan
with the Charities Act 2011.
The objects of the Organisalion are to provide almshouses for aged or infirm persons who are unable lo
maintain themselves by their own exertions, within Garstang and district.

Trustees are appointed by the Board of Trustees and must pul themselves forward for re-appointment at
the AGM.
Monetary AssetslReserves
The trust maintains ils policy of maintaining sufficient reserves to meet operating costs for a year in
advance, allowing property improvements lo be undertaken when funds allow.
The trustees continue to have a reasonable expectation that the trust has adequate reSoUr￿S for the
continual operational existence for al least 12 months from the dale of the approved accounts.
Risk Managernent
The trustees have examined the major strategic business and operational risks which the charity faces and
confirm that systems have been established lo enable regular reports to be produced so that the
necessary steps can be taken lo lessen these risks.
In the year the trustees have had due regard to guidance published by the Charity Commission on public
benefit.
Actlvltles durlng the Year
During the year, the Iruslees have continued lo work towards achieving the Organisation's objectives.
The results of the year are shown on page 4 of these accounts.

Trustees. Responsibilities
The trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records that disclose with reasonable
accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity and enable them to ensure that the accounts
comply with the Charities Act 2011, the Charity (Accounts and Reports} Regulations 2008 and the
provisions of the trust deed. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and
hen￿ for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.

I report lo the charity Iruslees on my examination of the accounts of the charity for the year ended 31 December
2023 which are set out on pages 4 10 6.
Responsibilities and basis of report
As the charity's trustees you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in a￿ordanCe with the
requirements of the Charities Act 2011 {'Ihe Acl'}-
report in respect of my examination of the charity's accounts carried out under section 145 of the Act and in
carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under
section 145{5llbl of the Act.
Independent examiner's statement
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with
the examination giving me cause lo believe that in any material respect..
accounting records were not kept in respect of the charity as required by section 130 of the Act: or
the accounts do not accord with those records:
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention
should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understsnding of the accounts to be reached.

al Basis of preparation
The accounts have been presented on a Re￿Ipts and Payments basis and in accordance with the guide to
the Charities SORP entitled "Accounting for the Smaller Charity" on the grounds that as the Trust's gross
receipts or payments are below £250,000 per annum, it qualifies as a small charity.
