The purposes of the charity are the relief in sickness of needy persons and such other char.itable purposes as the Trustees think fft. The Inrtial funding of the charity was provided by the sale ot the property and land known as Morris Grange which was operated by the North Yorkshire County Branch of the British Red Cr055 Society, as a holiday home. It is my responsibllity to- examlne the accounts under section 145 of the Charfties Act, to follow the procedures laid down in the general Direction5 8iven by the Charity Commission (under section 145{5llbl of the Charities Act. and to State whether particular matters have come to my attention. My examination was carried out in accordance with general Direttions given by the Charty Commlssion. Basis Of Pre aration Of Accounts The accounts are prepared under the historlc31 cost convention and indude the results of the charitvs operations which are described in the Trustees Report and all of which are continuing. The accounts have been prepared in accordance with the Statement of Recommended Prattice for charity accounts. The charity has tsken advantage of the exemption in Finanaal Reporting Standard No l from the requlrement to produce a cash flow ststement on the grounds that it qualifies as a small charity. b) Investrnents Investments are stated 3t market walue. Realised and unrealised gains and losses on investments are dealt with in the Ststement of Finanaal Activities. Investment income plus assoaated tax recoverable is credited to Income on an accruals basis, using dates of payments for dividends and daily accruals for interest.
