The Council of th¢ Society is responsible for the overall management and control of the charity and
regular m¢eting5 are held. The Council is also grateful to the maoy volunteers who give their time to thc

The clwity is established for the promotion of agriculture, borticulturc and nwal traditions through the
staging of the annual Derbyshire Counry Show.
The Show is aimd at any and all members of the public. It is widely advertised in the Ciry of Derby &s
well as. th¢ SUEFouDding. distrlcts and D.eigbbouring counties and the Show attracts several thousand.
visitors who can see many facets of rural heritsge displaye￿ including an]n￿ls, trades and skills.
The many exhibitors at the Show benefit from the cbancc to showcase their IivcstocK skn'll or wares to
wider audlence than they may be able to acce&s individually. while members of the public visiting the
Show are able to benefit by the gathering of many different goods, produc4 live￿0¢{ attractions and
entertainment on onc day ai a family friendly ￿ent.
The Show opens to the public at 8am and ¢los¢s at 5.30pm. There is a range of cattle, sheep, horse, dog,
rabbi( bir¢ horticultural and Young Fanners, competitions beld throughout the day and mally of th¢
Competitions are qualifying rounds for national competitions such as Cnlfts and the Horse of the Year
Show. Along with this there are rnany th'splays of vintage machinery, cars and tractOTS, Women'5
Instithte. bedrwe euttinft and dry stone walling. There are classic rid￿ for ebildrett including a helter-
skelter and carobsel. Rcfr¢slllncnts are available from a variety of prcrflucers. Ther¢ is 3s well a main ring
with a full pro￿amMe of dwlays and ¢nlcrtainmenL which has included JCB Dancing Diggu4 Monster
TTuck displays and The Yorkshire Volunteers Marching Bart￿ and evay year we also have a Grand
Parade of the prizewinning animals in the afternoon.

Following the unfortunate ¢an¢¢llation of the 2024 show a few days beforc the sbow due to very weL
unsafe conditions on the showground thc society were deterllliued Lo Lome back bigger and better for
2025 and we can rq)ort a hugely succe&sful show.
The weather was kind during setup week and was good on show day leading to a successfijl show both as
an experience for those involved and f￿anciallY. We were able to welcome back th¢ Rabbit section this
year and also held a Fun Dog Show which was well ￿e1Ved by the public. We look forward to
welcoming back the Poulty section &s soon &$ we are able to futthcr enhance the show cxpcrience for the
tamilies that come tor a lovely day out with ￿$.
We r¢main mindfid to ke¢p a tight rein on the budget to sustsin the future of the show as maay other
shows like ours have fallen by Ibe wayside.
It remains the aim of the society to CODtinue to hold the Derbyshtr¢ County Show and try to build up OUT
funds to put the society back on a strong fll)ancial footing to swtain it's future.

begin to rebuild the reserves.

The council members {who are also the directors for the purpjses of company law) are responsible for
preparing the Council Members. Annual Report and the financial statements in accoTdance with
applicable law and United Kingdom Accounting Stsndard5 (Uniied Kingdom Generally Accepted
Accounting Practice).
Company law requires the (rustees to prepare financial statements for eacb fll)ancial year which give a
true and fair view of the state of affairs of the thaTitabl¢ company and of the incoming r￿ourCeS and
application of resources. including the income and expenditure. of the charitable company lor that pexiod.
In preparing these fmancial statrments. the Council Members are required to:

Recornmended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the
Finallcial ReportlDg S&Ddard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) issued on
16 July 2014 (as updated through Bulletin I publithed 2 February 2016), the Financial Reporting
Staodard applicable in the United Kingdom and Republic of treland (FRS 102), the CharAties Act
