The charity is ¢onstitLrted and govemed by a Scheme of the 8th Akyll 1971 and an Order
dated 9th August 2¢XI6.
Trust888 are nominated by the Parlsh Coundl and 0th8r organisatlMs Ilnked with the
charfvs Interests and are appolnted by the a￿Sting trustees.
ObJ•cllv•s and actlvltles
The charity's principal object is to provide a fuel allowar￿e to pensioners, widows and poor
persons resld8nt in the parish of East Ruston. If the charivs income is surplus for thls
purpose it is available for special help for children In th8 villag8 and also for relleving, elth8r
generally or individually. persons resldent in the parish of East Ruston vtho are in oondllions
of need. hardship or distress.
Achiovemont•
The Trustees have be8n concem8d this year that because of the continual fli)oding of South
Fen p8manent damage may have b88n caitsed to the grazing. Whilst the grazing has bean
offered to last years grazier we will need lo see rf there will be any grass available.
If we are unable to obtaln any rent It wll obviously affect n8xt y8ar3 I￿A)me considerably.
The Conservation Vclunteers have c<)ntinued to malntah areas of the Common that have
already been deared as well as cutting gorse on new areas.
Pater Frizzell ha$ ¢￿tInUed to control any J4)an8se Knoiweed on th8 COMM¢￿ by the
Council houses.
As always the hedges around the Common have begn maintalned by our conlractor and
although he will now be ￿tiring he has assured us trot he has a colleague WIKJ will continue
the cutting.
The Trustees paid for children and parents to visit Bewilderwood and 32 cheques of £45 8ath
were issued in December. For a second year a Christmas meal in thg Villag8 Hall, for
parishiongrs and friends. was sponsored by the Trustees. Because of the success of last
years event the Trustees donated £1200 as mor8 villagers wshed to attend.

Surplus income is held in reserves as a ￿ntingencY fcK unforeseen expenditure or a
fall in future receipts.
Flnanclal rovlew
The charitrfs principal income arises from the rent of land for grazing. agriculture and
sporting rights together with land related grants from the Rural Pa￿rnents Agency.

have come to my attention in ry)nnection with the examination which
gives me cause to belleve that in, any matsrial resp8Ct:
