The objects of the charity are to develop the community wealth of east London and promote a diverse and inclusive society in which all are free to participate. These are achieved by making significant grants and by its role as a Registered Social Landlord.
Objects: 3. Objects Of The Company3.1 That The Objects For Which The Company Is Established Are:3.1.1 To Promote The Christian Religion.3.1.2 To Relieve Poverty, Sickness And Distress, Advance Education And Preserve And Protect The Health Of Members Of The Community In East London And Elsewhere ("The Area Of Benefit").3.1.3 To Develop The Capacity And Skills Of The Members Of The Community In The Area Of Benefit In Such A Way That They Are Better Able To Identify And Help Meet Their Needs And To Participate More Fully In Society.3.1.4 To Provide Or Assist In The Provision Of Facilities For Recreation Or Other Leisure Time Occupation For The Benefit Of Members Of The Community In The Area Of Benefit In The Interest Of Social Welfare And With The Object Of Improving The Conditions Of Life For Those Persons Who Need The Facilities By Reason Of Their Youth, Age, Infirmity Or Disablement, Poverty Or Social And Economic Circumstances.3.1.5 To Promote Religious Harmony For The Public Benefit.3.1.6 To Provide Housing For Persons In Need.3.1.7 To Promote Any Other Charitable Object
