TRUSTEES ANNUAL REPORT
The Trustees present their annual report for the year ended 31 March 2026.
Henry Smith's Charity arose from a deed dated 20 December 1641 and a decree of the Commissioners of
Charitable Uses made in 1699 and later from a scheme by the Charity Commissioners dated 8th March
1910.
Trustees are appointed or reappointed at the AGM held in June. They are appointed in accordance with the
trust deed.
The charity's objective 15 to manage the propety vested in it, being Whitehouse Farm in the Parish of
Tolleshunt D'arcy, Essex and after defraying the expense of management divide the residue into 140 equal
parts to be distributed in proportions laid down in the scheme be￿een various ancient parishes in Suffolk,
Essex, Hertford, Chester and Sussex.
The Trustees believe that the activities undertaken in order to fulfil the charity's objectives are done so lo
further public benefit.
The Trustees confim that they have Compli￿ with the requirements of section 17 of the Charities act 2011
to have due regard to the public benefit guidance published by the Charity Commission for England and
Wales.
The Trustees are satisfied that the Trust propertes are well managed and producing a steady income for the
various beneficiary parishes.
Al the year end the charity held £85.207 cash deposits which are unrestricted. The reserves policy is to hold
sufficient funds to meet unforeseen expenditure in addition to expenditure related to the upkeep of the farm
and buildings. The Trustees consider there is sufficient cash on deposit to uphold this policy. Due
consideration is made annually by the Trustees as to the available funds for distribution.

which are set out on pages 4 to 5
Responsibilities and basis of report
As the charty's trustees you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance wth the reqU1￿MentS
of the Charities Act 2011 I'the Act'l.
I report in respect of my examination of the ¢harWs accounts carried out under section 145 of the Act and in
carying out my ex8minalion I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under
section 14515llbl gf the Act.
Independent examiner's ststsment
I have completed my examination. I ctsnfimi that no Material matters havè come to my attention in conn&¢tion wtth
the examination giving me Cause lo believe that in any material respect-.
accounting records were not kept in respect of the charity as required by sedion 130 of the Act-, or
the accuunls do not accord with those records,. or
the aceounts do not comply wfch the spplicable requirements conceming the frjrm and content of
accounts sel out in the Charrfties (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that
the accounts give a 'lrue and fair view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent
examination.
I have no concerns and have ¢ome across no other matters in ¢onnection with the examin81ion lo which attention
should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts lo be reached.
