In November 2023 the office saw a surge in telephone and email enquiries, largely due to the national presence of
thè loundalion wilhin the charity sector, hiuh visibility on prominent websites and Ihè éxpansivè langè of grants
made avgilablo lo individuals tsuffering finalloi31 haidship. The demand from Housing A550C181ions and NHS TILFSIS
has increased sigllilicanlly. with caseworkeis submilling multiple requests priinaiily, for flOO￿ng and while goods.
There has also been an inGioase in Social Presciibers and Wellbeing Coordinators, who have laken a holislic
approach when Inaking referrals and citing financial hardship as one coinponenl in allevidling the emolional distress
Df their clients. The office has adopted a number of measures lo manaoe Ihe influx ol enquiries, one ol which is lo
assign lead-¢oordinalors for large organisalions xnd charitiès whose roltr is lo oversee applications piior lo
submisston. An ifti1181 screening process has been pul into operation lo identify and verity if these enquiries satisfy
the foundations eligibilily crileTia for a gTanl. The referrals being submitted are often unsalislactory. with
discrepancies needing to be addressed prior lo submission. Addilionally ihe office is providing extra guidance to
caseworkers to progress Iheir application.
Many charilies ale feeling the effects of the cost of living CTISIS. There has been a decrease in the piovision from
some lundors. ovetheads have increased and geneTally an oveiall decline in public (fonalions. A number of CAB
offices are running community projects and have deilicaled advisers lo assist individuals sulfering Irom the impacl
ol Ihe cost of living crisis. The new financial year presents a number of challenges but the Irustees are confident in
eontinuing to providè une68sing support to those who are facing finanaal har(Sship.

The board of tTu8lees has a reasonable Èxpèctation th81 the foundation will have ad6quate resources lo continue In
operalional exislellce for the foreseeable future. For this reason il ￿n(InueS lo adopt the going concern basis in
prepaiing the finanaal slatemenls.
Policy on reseNes
It is Ihc policy ol the Iruslees lo maintain the unreslricle(f lunds. which ale Ihe free reserves of the charity, al a level
ol a leagt six monll)s expendilure. This provides sufficient funds lo cover management and administration cosls and
lo respond lo emergency grant applications. Unrestricted funds remained considerably above Ihis level Ihroughoul
thè yèar.

The foundalions piinciple funding source is Ihe investment income generated by Ihe investment POFllolio.

The Kroch Foundation's ILJnd manager is CCLA. with whom th8 Foundation holds units in the COIF Charities
Investment Fund Ilnveslmenl Fund). The Investment fund is a pooled mulli-assel inveslmenl vehicle with a laige
number of undpilying investors and appiox. £3.78 bn of assets and best suited to the Foundalion's iiicome and
capilal growth requirements. As 013151 March 2024. Ihe value of our investment was £7.193m million (excluding
cash held in tho COIF Chaiilios Deposit Fund which was approx. £90kl. The loreeasl annual income for Ihe COIF
Charities Investmerit Fund for calendar year 2024 is £195,630, reprèsÈnling an invéslmÈnt yield of 2.72Q/(+.

and the Charities SORP "Accounting and Reporting by Chaiilies.. Slalemenl of Recommended Practice

Benefii Enlily as defined by FRS 102.
The charity has taken advantage of the provisions in the SORP for charilies not to prepare a Statemen( of
Cash Flows.
The fiiiancial slalemenls have dep8rted from the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 only lo
the extent requirecl lo provide a Ifue and fair view. This departure has involved following Ihe Slatemenl ol
