OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES

The objecls of the charity are to promote. Inculcate, propagate and carry on the study and teachlng
of Iheology and mgtaphysical religion and do all things incidental to the advancgment Ihereof.The
objects also enable the Society to hold devotlonal and public meetings, 18clures, exhibltlons and
classes ol an educalional and splrltual character, to establish and carry on schools and colleges, to
construct temples of worship and other Inslltutlons for religious s8tvic8s and to supervise, unify,
promote and generally administer Ihe activlties of the members of the Soclety In tha fU￿lIMent of
their religious off ices, duties and ideals.

The Society is run purely by voluntary help. No volunleers are paid for thelr work although
expenses are covered but only in case of need. Volunteers continue to glve limg generously.
Publlshlng
The Soclety publlshes learned artlcle8 an(S books on theology and mystlclsm and esoterlc thought
in both print and via eleclronic media. Redwheel Weiser Publishers contlnues to operate on our
behalf for our readers in the United States and worldwlde in relation to the Socletys Estate.
Courses
The society continues to provlde a sUpe￿Ised oorrespondence course, Its length as a preliminary
to admission b8ing on8 year. Courses Involve studies in mysticism, ethics, theology, as well as
esotoric thought and practlce. Coursework is set and marked by a number ol sup8Nisors under
the overall supeNision of the Diractor of Sludles. The Society Is keen to maintain hlgh academic
and personal standards Irom its members and Its study courso students.
Centre {"Th8 House")
The Society continues to USO Its headquarters at 38 Steole's Road NW3 as an opgn centre lor the
Society's members where Ihey can attend meellngs. lectures and talks organlsed by the Society.
The centre is also open for prayers and meditation In an area specially set aslde. Overnight
accommodation Is avallable to Society members and guests when necessary.
The Trustees contlnue to spend funds carefully to keep the centre In good order. The Society
recelved a settlement Irom thelr Insurers in the year whlch will be spent in 2023124 on various
subsidence issues.
Publlc beneflt
The Trustees confirm that they have complied with the duty In section 17 of the Charities Act 2011
to have due regard to public benelit in determining the activities undertaken by ihe Charity.

OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES
Grantmaklng
Last year a grant was mad8 in respect of a Dion Fortune seminar. This year no grants were
made.
FINANCIAL REVIEW
Investment pollcy and objactlves
There are no reslrictlons on the Soclevs power lo Invest but the Soclety conllnues to be satlsfled
that the most approprlale policy for investing their funds are the specialised unit trusts designed lor
the charity sector. The Society continues to invest in Charibond Charities Narrower Range
Common Fund and the Equities Investment Fund for Charities ICharibond}. Thelr portfolio
continues to be managed by M&G Securities Limited. The Council consid8rs th8 SoGiely's
Investments to b8 managed judiciously by M&G in Ihe face ol the conlinu8d 8conomic impact ol
Geopolitical events in the world. It is anticipated that th8 Flxed Income will provide some stability,
whilst It Is hoped that the Shar8s will continue to recover any losi ground over time. The Society
does not intend to realise capital losses.

The Councll are in continuing discussSon wllh the m8mbership wlth regard to the current activitles
of the Soclely and addFllonal means to carry out the oblects. A fundamenlal factor being a
contlnuous review ot Ihe Society's res8Nes pollcy.

STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT
Governlng document
The charity is controlled by its Memorandum and Articles of Association and constilules a limited
Company, limited by guarant69, as defined by the Companias Act 2006.

Th8 directors ol the company are members of the Council ol Management (the "Council'}, who are
also ils trustees for the purposes ol charity law. Tha Council are self-appointing and must be
members of the charity to be se18Cted for appointment. The Artlcles provide Ihal the Councll may
choose to specify a term of office but, if no term is so speclfied, a Trustee shall remaln untll they
cease to hold ollice due to disquallflcation, removal or death. The number of Trustees shall nol
be less than three nor more than twelv8.

ended 30 June 2023.
Responslbllltles and basls of report
As the charity's trustees of the Company {and also 115 directors for Ihé purposes of company law)
you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the
Companies Acl 2006 Cth8 2006 ACVI.
Having satisfied myself that the accounts of the Company ar8 not required lo be audited under
Part 16 of the 2006 Act and are eliglble for Independenl examinatlon, I report in respect ol my
examination of your charity's accounts as carried out under Section 145 of the Charities Act 2011
('the 2011 AcV)- In carrying out my examination I have tollowed Iha Dlrectlons given by the Charity
Commission under Section 14515} (b) ol the 2011 Act.
Independent examlner's statement
I have completed my examinalion. I confim that no matters have come lo my altentlon In
connection with the examination giving me cause to believe:
accounting records were not kept in respect of th8 Company as required by Section 386 of
the 2006 Act; or
the accounts do not accord wlth those records., or
the accounts do not comply with the accountlng requlremenls ol Section 396 of the 2006 Act
other than any requirement that the accounts give a tru8 and fair view which is not a matt8r
considered as part of an Independent examination; or
the accounts have not been prepared in accordance with the methods and principles of Ihe
Statement of Recommended Practice for accounting and reporting by charltles (applicable lo

Basls of preparlng the flnanclal 8talement8
The financial statgmenls of the charitable company, which is a public benefit entity under
FRS 102, have been prepa￿d in a¢¢ordance wilh the Charities SORP IFRS 102)
'Accounting and Reporting by Charities.. Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to
charities preparing their accounts In accordance wlth the Financlal Reporting Standard
applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland {FRS 1021 (effective 1 January 2019),, Financial
Reporting Standard 102 The Financial Reportlng Standard applicable in the UK and
Republic of Ireland, and the Companies Act 2006. The financial statements have been
prepared under Ihe hlstorlcal cost convention, with the exceplion of inveslrnents which are
included at market value. as modlfied by the revaluation of certain assets.
Income
All income Is recognised in the Slalemenl of Financial Activities once the charity has
entitlement to th8 funds, it is probable that the income will be received and the amount can
be measured reliably.
Expendllure
LiabilitSes are recognlsed a8 expendlture as soon as there is a legal or construclive
obligation committing the charlty to Ihal expenditure, il is probable that a transfer of
economic benefits wlll be requlred in settlement and the amounl of the obligation can b8
measured r81iably. Expendllure Is accounted for on an accruals basls and has been
classlfled und8r headings that aggregate all cost related to the category. Where costs Cannot
be dlr8¢tly attributed lo partlcular headings they hav8 been allocated to actlvities on a basis
consistent with the use of resourc8S.
