## **Financial Review** 

|Review of the charity’s<br>financial position at the end<br>of the period|Para 1.21|During the year to 31st December 2020 the<br>Society had an income of £56,069 (£66,581 in<br>2019) and an expenditure of £51,592 (£64,018 in<br>2019) giving net surplus of £4,477 (£2,563 in<br>2018).<br>Reduced income and expenditure were as a<br>result of lockdown – we could not run major<br>ticketed events during the period. Online events<br>were initially free, and then at a lower price than<br>‘in person’ events. Our part-time administrator<br>position was redundant at the end of 2020.<br>We expect to have another surplus in 2021, with<br>new corporate supporters being actively<br>recruited.|

I report to the charity trustees on my examination of the accounts of the charity for the year ended

## **Responsibilities and basis of report** 

As the charity’s trustees you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (‘the Act’). 

I report in respect of my examination of the charity’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act. 

## **Independent examiner's statement** 

I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect: 

1. accounting records were not kept in respect of the charity as required by section 130 of the Act; or
