Chairman’s Report

This year has been a very good year for our group with lots of varied activities so thank you to Dave and Lyn for the organization of the year. We have also been very lucky to have been granted some funding with thanks again to our development officer Dave Urwin.

As money comes in it also goes out and thank you to our treasurer Chris Poole for keeping tabs and getting everything together and preparing statements for the meetings and the auditors.

Thank you, David Brooks-Dawe, for all your time looking after caravan bookings and keeping the caravan tidy and preparing it for bookings, which have been very good this year.

Thank you, Lyn, for your sustained hard work organizing all the activities for this year and going forward. The holiday in Torquay, which was enjoyed by everyone, thank you Lyn for all the communications, paperwork and organizing and next year there is a welcome break! I say welcome because as everyone knows that absence makes the heart grow fonder or missing it once will make the following year more special!

Our treasurer Chris Poole is still working hard behind the scenes and has expressed the desire to step down. Unfortunately, we don’t seem to be able to produce a volunteer to take his place. Does anyone know of a willing candidate?

We are looking forward to a very exciting 2024 with music of differing sorts and trips out. I am looking to having a go on the drumming and I shall report back because I’m having an early session at the Bus Station through work!

Thank you, Moira, for your support during the year and thank you to all the trustees and volunteers who help out at all the activities because without you we would be like the Koalas at Longleat!
