PRESTBURY MEMORIAL TRUST CHAIRMAN’S REPORT JANUARY TO DECEMBER 2022

This year we have seen a steady increase in all areas of the Trust. We have new members joining activities, including sit and fit and shopping, we have also sadly lost some long-standing members. Our numbers remain consistent with previous years.

The minibus has continued to cause great frustration with mechanical issues and we launched an appeal in December to raise funds for an eventual replacement.

Activities have steadily increased with the sit & fit group now having 20+ regular members. We did minibus outings to Evesham Country Park, Highfield Garden Centre, Dobbies (Cirencester) etc, all of which were well attended and enjoyed by all. We did the Christmas lights and fish & chip supper outing which, as before, proved very popular.

All in all, our post Covid-19 recovery is moving forward in a positive direction, and I am confident this will continue.

The Friendship group made 61 visits this year, this continues to be a much appreciated service.

We have been able to enjoy a full calendar of quiz events, coffee mornings and afternoon teas with a total of £3,836.82 raised towards Trust funds

5 quiz evenings were held during the winter months and raised just over £1800

The 100 Club continues to operate with a membership of about 80 .

Both house at 10 and 10a Deep Street were occupied for 2022 by Jenny, our Warden, and our tenants Jack and Chantal. This generated an income of £7,800.

In December, Jack and Chantal informed us they would be leaving at the end of January 2023 and the new tenants, Liam and Lauren, moved in in February 2023. There was £4,418 spent maintaining both houses.

The monthly Lunch Club has operated throughout the last 12 months using the Prestbury WI Hall and attendance is on average 30 with 65 on the invitation list.

The Lunch Club average attendance has been just over 30, and the current invitation list now has 55.

The Christmas Party had 65 attending.

My thanks to the warden, to the committee for all their help and to all the volunteers without whom we would not be able to function.
