The Trustees submrt their report and financial statements for the year ended 31st December 2024.

The John Jones Charity was founded by a will proved on 27th April 1513 and comprised in a scheme
made under the Endowed Schools Acts on the 29th November 1881. The Charity is a registered
charty number 204800.
The Charty is established lo provhde financial assi8tance to the Parochi81 Church Council of
Cirencester for the upkeep and repair of the fabric of the Parish Church and to Powells Educational
Foundation.
Grant makin
The Charity is bound by the scheme whereby Ihree-fifths of net income is applied lo the Pan)chial
Church Council of Cirencester for the upkeep and repair of the fabric of the Parish Church, one frfth is
applied to Powells Educational Foundation and the remaining one fffth is applied at the discretion of the
Trustees to the before mentioned purposes.
Because of signrficanl Maintenan￿ work requira lo the investment propety during the period il was
deemed that the nel income available was nil, and so no grant was awarded during the
Achievements and rformance
All the flats and the shops remained in occupation durtng the ye&r. The Trustees are supported in
their management of the flats by Perry Bishop, and of the shops by Marriotts Property. Condition of
the property: During the year the Trustees delem)ined that significant maintenance work was
required to the property and commissioned Terrace Surveyors lo manage a project for them_ This
will resolve a number of extemal and internal issues. particularfy involving windows and roofing, and
is expected lo conclude in September 2025. The regular propety inspections by P8rry Bishop of the
Tesidential areas also continued.

The Trust Deed provides for a maximum of 7 Trustees.. 3 ex-officio Trustees, being the Vicar and
Churchwardens of Parish of Sl. John Baptist, Cirencesler.. 2 nominative Trustees, appointed by
Powell's Educational Foundation and 2 co-oplaltve Trustees, who through residence, occupation or
employment, or otherwise have special knowledge of Cirencesler. Where there is 8 requirement for
new co-oplative trustees, they are identified and appointed by the remaining Trustees. The chair of
Trustees is responsible for the induction of any new Trustee which involves the awareness of a
Trustee's responsibilf(ies, the governing document, administrative procedures, the history and
philosophical approach of the Charity.

The results for the year are as sel out in the Receipts and Payments Account on page 5. The Trustees
consider that the stale of affairs of the Charty is satisfactory.
Cash not need￿ for immediate purposes is invested in bank deposit accounts and endowmenl funds
are invested in the CBF ChU￿h of Er￿land Investment Fund.
It is the policy of the Charity lo mainlairb unrestricted funds, which are the free reserves ot the Charty,
at a level which promdes suffiaent fvnds to cover anticipated propety expenses and manager￿[ and
adminislralion Costs.

In planning the Charity's activf(ies for the year the Trustees kept in mind the Charty Commission's
guidance on publ￿ benefit al their meetings.

The Trustees are responsible for preparing the Trustees, Annual Report and the financial statements in
accordance with applicable law and Uni18d lQngdom Accounting Standards (United Kingdom Generally
Aeeepled Accounting Practice).
The law applicable lo charities in England & Wales requires the Trustees to prepare financial statements
for each financial year which give a true and fair view of the slate of affairs of the Charity and of the
income and expendrture of the Charity for that period.
The Trustees are responsible for keeping pfoper accounting records that disclose wf(h reasonable
curacy al any time the financial posrtion of the Charity and enable them lo ensure that the financial
statements comply with the Char((ies Act 2011. the Charty (A¢￿unIS and Reportsl Regulations and the
provisions of the Trust Deed. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assels of the Charity and
hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detectK)n of fraud and other irregularrties.

I report to the Charity Trustees on my examination of the 8£counts of the Charity for the year ended
31 sl December 2024 which are set out on pages 5 to 9.

As the Charity's Trustees you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with
the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 {'Ihe Act'i.
I roport in respect of my examination of the Charity's accounts carried out under section 145 of the
Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the
Charity Commission under section 145151{b} of the Act.
Independent examlner's statement
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matter8 have come to my attention in
connection with the examination giving me eause lo believe that in any material respect=
accounting records were not kept in respect of the Charity a5 required by Section 130 of the Act..
