The Trustees submit their report and financial statements for the year endod 31st December 2023.

ob'ectives and advltleg of the Charl
The John Jones Charity was founded by a will proved on 27th ApTiI 1513 and comprised in a scheme
made under the Endowed Schools Acts on the 29th November 1881. The Charity is a registered
charity number 204800.
The Charty is established lo provide financial assistance to the Parochial Church Council of
Cirencester for the upkeep and repair of the fabric of the Parish Church and to Powells Educational
Foundation.

The Charity is bound by the scheme whereby Ihree-fffths of net income is applied to the Parochial
chU￿h Council of Cirenc&ster for the upkeep and repair of the fabric of the Parish Church. one frfth is
applied lo Powells Educational Foundation and the remaining one fifth is applied at the discretion of the
Trustees lo the before mentioned purposes.
A¢hlevements and rforman¢e
All the flats and the shops remained in occupation during the year. The Trustees are supported in
their management of the flats by Perry Bishop, and of the shops by Marriotts Propety. Condition of
the property: During the yeaT Mr Woodd and the property advisers inspected the propety. This is in
addition lo the regular property inspections by Perry Bishop of the residential areas. The Trustees
have been advised further works are carried out on the property and the TrLJslee5 are to commission
a report in the next financial year.

The Trust Deed provides for a maximum of 7 Trustees.. 3 ex-officio Trustees, being the Vicar and
Churchwardens of Parish of St. John Baptist. Ciren¢ester', 2 nominative Trustees, appointed by
Powell's Educational Foundation and 2 co-oplative Trustee5, who through residence, occupation or
employment, or otherwise have special knowledge of Cirencester. Where there is a requirement for
new co-oplalive trustees, they are identified and appointecl by the remaining Trustees. The chair of
Trustees is responsible for the induction of any new Trustee which involves the awareness of a
Trustee's responsibilities, the governing document, administrative procedures, the history and
philosophical apprwh of the Charity.

The resutts for the year are as sel out in the Receipts and Payments Account on page 5. The Trustees
conside¥ that the stale of affairs of the Chafty is satisfactory.
Cash not needed for immediate purposes is invested in bank deposit accounts and endowment funds
are inv8Sted in the CBF Church of EngLgnd Investment Fund.

The Trustees are responsible for preparing the Trustees, Annual Report and the financial statements in
accordance with applicable law and United Kingdom Accounting Standards Iuniled Kingdc#m Generally
Accepted Accounting Practice).
The law applicable to charities in England & Wales requires the Trustees lo prepare financial statements
for each fi'nancial year which give a true and fair view of the Slate of affairs of the Charrty and of the
income and expenditu￿ ofthe Chanty for that pe￿d.
The Trustees are responsibLg for keeping proper accounting records that disclose wf(h re8sonabf8
a¢¢uracy at any lime the finan¢ial position of the Charty and enable them to ensure that the financial
statements comply with the Charities Act 2011, the Charity (Accounts and Reportsl RegulalK)ns and the
provisions of the Trust Deed. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the Charty and
hence foi laking reasonable steps for the prevention and detectK)n of fraud and olhor irregulari(ie$.

I report lo the Charity Trustees on my examination of the accounts of the Charity for the year ended
31 December 2023 which are set out on pages 5 to g.
Responsibilitigs and basis of report
As the Charity's Trusteès you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance wf(h
the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 I'lhe Acl'l.
I report in respect of my examination of the Charity's accounts carried out under section 145 of the
Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by Ihe
Charty Commission under section 14515llbl of the Act.
