The charity is administered by its committee of trustee members, who are appointed in accordance with the Trust Deed. The committee holds at least two ordinary meetings each year to discuss key matters and ensure the smooth running of the charity. ## **Objectives and activities** The objectives of the charity is to provide relief from povety for people resident in the Gloucestershire area who are in need, in hardship or distress. The Trustees have had regard to the Charity Commission's guidance on public benefit. ## **Summary of main achievements of the charity during the year** The charity continued to provide a vital service to its user groups during the year. The Society had a successful appeal during the year led by our president Richard Boggis-Rolfe, raising funds totalling £150,841. We were pleased to carry on the important work of distributing small grants to people in need in the range between £10 and £250 each. A higher grant level was set this year to help the charity distribute the additional donations recieved this year. ## **Reserves policy** The trustees aim to maintain unrestricted reserves at a level to meet approximoately 9 months' normal expenditure levels. This is considered to provide sufficient funds to continue to provide grants to beneficaries in the event of a drop in income. ## **Financial review** The detailed receipts and payments accounts are included on page 3. As shown in the accounts, the principle sources of funds were donations received during the year. The key areas of expenditure included individual grants and administration costs. ………………………………………………. I report in respect of my examination of the charity’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act. ## **Independent examiner's statement** I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect: - 1 accounting records were not kept in respect of the charity as required by section 130 of the Act; or - 2 the accounts do not accord with those records. I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
