## **MINUTES** 

## **of the George Watson Memorial Hall Trustee Meeting held on Monday 10[th] March 2025 at the Town Hall, Tewkesbury at 7.05pm** 

**Present:** Cllrs P Jones (Chair), P Brookes, A Hayes, J Raywood, S Raywood, M Sztymiak, H Bowman, K Moran,  E Ash, C Danter, C Robertson, V Smith 

**In attendance:** D Hill (Town Clerk), J King (Deputy Town Clerk) 

The Town Mayor took the Chair. 

**1. To receive apologies for absence** Apologies were received from Cllr Cody. 

**2. To note the minutes from the meeting on 11[th] March 2024** The minutes from the meeting held on 11[th] March 2024 were noted. 

**3. To note the Charities Commission annual return for 2023/4** 

The annual return was noted. 

**4. To receive an update on progress to dissolve the George Watson Memorial Hall charity** The Charities Commission have advised that we can proceed with closing the charity but as disposal is to a sole trustee permission must be sought from the Charity Commission to proceed. This requires a valuation of the building, split by the three existing Land Registry titles. Additionally it is believed 64 Barton Street also form part of the charity land. 

## **5. To receive an update on the valuation of the George Watson Memorial Hall and 64 Barton Street** 

The valuation of the buildings took place during week commencing 5[th] March 2025.  Not all valuation reports have yet been received.  Once all have been received, the Town Clerk will go back to the Charities Commission.  It is hoped that this will be completed within 2025/26 financial year. 

## **6. Any other business** 

There was no other business. 

There being no further business, the meeting closed at 7.10pm
