The Prestbury Unlted Chartties Is normally admlnistered by nine trustees and a clerk who works on self-employed basis, being remunerated for hours worked. It has no paid employees. The income of the charity is made up of dividends and interest on investments. In 2024 the total income received was £28,997.10 The Prestbury United Charities uses the income from investments to meet the needs of applicants whom the trustees consider are ellgible for assistance. Durlng 2024 the PUC approved 16 applications from individuals or organisations whose fulfilment cost £5,459.32. In 2021 the PUC established a partnership with the Cheltenham office of the P3 charity to extend relief to those in need In Its area of benefft. P3 helps persons who are homeless or have recently been found accommodation and need basic household items. Ourin8 2024 the P3 charity was granted further funds of £3,CMXI.IXI to administer on the same application basis asthe PUC but with maxlmum individual grant limit of £500.¢XI. In 2024 the P3 Charity approved 28 applicatlons and spent £5,070.90 In their fulfilment. There was a balance of cumulative grant monies awarded to P3 of £2,895.87 at the end of the year. In addltlon. grants amountln8 to £9.000.00 were made to the Cheltenham Foodbank. In total, grants of £17,459.12 were made durin8 2024 by the PUC. Overheads for the year were £3.689.00. In 2024 the total expend5ture was £21,218.72. In 2024 there was a surplus of Income over expenditure of £7,778.38. That contrasts with a surplus of £3,354.01 in 2023,. a deficlt of (£1,344.95) In 2022; and a deficit of1£9,163.531 in 2021. During 2024 the trustees re-lnvested £30,IJ)O.¢yJ that had accumulated in its bank deposit account accruing from dividend income that was surplus to its annual expenditure over several previous vears. The financial policies followed by the PUC durin8 the year were: Trustees shall ensure that investments comply with the Trustee Act 20LK) {or any later version). and that: 1.1 The aim of the Trustees is to protect the value of the investments against Inflation. 1.2 The Trustees take'proper advice" when Investing. Thls advlce is to be glven by a Stockbroker or other suitably qualified financial advisor and the Trustees must ensure that: 1.2.1 There is a proper diversification of investments. and, 1.2.2 The investments are suitable to meet the needs of the Charity. and, 1.2.3 The risk is acceptable.
