**Objects:** 1) TO RELIEVE PEOPLE RESIDENT IN THE AREA OF ASHBURTON WHO ARE IN  NEED, HARDSHIP OR DISTRESS; AND2) TO ASSIST YOUNG PEOPLE FROM ASHBURTON EITHER RESIDENT IN THE AREA OR ATTENDING EDUCATIONAL ESTABLISHMENTS IN THE AREA, WHO ARE SIMILARLY IN NEED, TO PURSUE THEIR EDUCATION THROUGH GRANTS TOWARDS EITHER FEES OR MAINTENANCE: OR IN THE PROMOTION AND SUPPORT OF EDUCATION WITHIN THE AREA; AND3) TO ADVANCE IN THE ASHBURTON AREA COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT, CULTURE, OR HERITAGE THROUGH GRANTS TO LOCAL CHARITIES FOR THESE PURPOSES; AND4) TO ADVANCE IN THE ASHBURTON AREA GRANTS TO LOCAL CHARITIES  TO ENABLE DISCHARGE OF OBJECTS 1) AND 2) ABOVE.

**Activities:** 1. To relieve people resident in the area of Ashburton who are in need, hardship, or distress.2. To assist young people from Ashburton, either resident in the area or attending education establishments in the area, who are in similar need, to pursue their education through grants towards either fees or maintenance OR in the provision or support of education in the area.
