As always, my thanks and appreciation go to the Tru8tre8 for giving their time artd
providing invaluable I¢Jc8J knowledge.
It remains the intention to pur8ue the merger ￿twe¢ll the Waterbeach Turbary and
the Waterbeach United ch￿ltieS. We had a positive response to a consultation with
stakeholders and residents, and now await feedback from the Ch￿lty Commission
to our propo8dJ.
Smith Charit
We were grateful to receive grant funding of £1,850 from the Henry Smith ChaTity
which was used to support a resident 8uffering hardship.
Distress
ants
The charity ha8 SUPPOrted 9 re8ident8 this year. These induded carpeting for
rc8idents moving into unfurnished properties, covering transport expenses for
residcnts in low income to enable them to attend their place of worklhospital
appointments, funiiture and winter elothing.
8cooter3
The Lharity buy8, loans, nxaintains and insurcs 8CLK>ters to re8ident8 in need. When
they are no longer rcquired they are returned to the Ch￿lty to loan out again. This
ycar the Charity loaned out 8 and has l in 8tock. Onc scooter was withdraMI as
beyond economic repoir, and a replacement purchased. Following the withdraw8J of
our previou8 insurers from this sector of work we had a hiatus in coverage in 2024
which we are able to resolve in 2025.
Student
This year we awarded 14 grants to students studying 8ubjccts including English.
Mathetnmtics, Medicine, Geography, Physiotherapy and sports rehabilitation and
Graphic design. Once ￿ain it was dear how gnxiou8 many of the student applicants
are about the impact that the cost of living increases are having on them. We wish
them well in their chosen studies.
Risk Man
ent.
The Charlty manages risk in relation to the mobility scooters it own8. It will also
review risk before making any commitment to the merger with the Turbary
charity referred to above.
Thanks also goes to Mr Gerald Allen for audititig our accounts once again.
