The trustees present their report with the financial statements of the charity for the year ended
31 Mar¢h 2025. The Iruslees have adopted the provisions of Accounting and Reporting by Charities..
Statement of Recommended Pra¢lice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the
Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS 1021 {effeclive 1 January
20191.
OWECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES
Objects
The objects of the charty a￿..
the rel￿f of persons resident in the Parish of Potton (the area of benefit} who are in need, hardship or
distress.,
the advancement of education of children and adults under the age of 25 resident in the area of benefit,.
to further the religious and other charitable work of the Church of England in the area of benefit", and
the general benefit of the inhabitants of the area of benefrt in such charitable a￿a8 as the trustees think fil.
Incoming re$ourco8
The charity's income is derived from rents received from investment Pfoperb'es, comprising cottages and
land, and from income from investments.
Public benefit
The trustees have complied with the duty in section 4 of the Chanlies Act 20¢I8 to have due regard to public
benefit guidance published by the Commission.
Grant making pollcy
The amount of funding available for grants is shared out on a percentage basis according to the Charity
Scheme.. 25Wo for the Relief of Povety., 350/0 to Education,. 1 OA lo Church of England,. and 39% as the trustees
see fi't for the benefit of the people of Potton.

ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE
Charitable Activities
Annual Grants were considered and awarded in March from a list prepared from previoys years.
Orgar¢isalions were added to or removed from the list as approved by the trustees at that meets'ng. Grants of
£26,350 12024 £29,250) were made to local schools and £110,180 12024 £67,030) to other organisalions
assisting the people of Potton.
Grants for Student Educats'on were advertised in the local p￿$$ during August and also in the local Post
Office and Library. Grants are available tr) all students living in Potton be￿een the ages of 18 and 25 who are
in fvll time education. Claim forms are completed by the students and their university or college and are then
Scrub'nised at the November meeting of the trustees. The amount of grants paid out was £16,140 {2024
£14,2501.
Grants were also made lo students aged 16 to 18 to assist wth the cost of transport lo school or college. The
total of these grants was £5,50012024 £8,000).
Grants for Pensioners at Christmas Iformedy Coal Money Grant) were awarded in November from a list of
applicants from former years. This list is now closed to new applicants. These grants amounted to £140 12024
£1601.
Other Grant Applications We￿ received in writing during the year. via the Clerk. These were Copied lo all
trustees prior to the next meeting. Grants were conSide￿d on a needs basis.
The Charity continued lo fund a Community Agent whose role is lo connect older and vulnerable people in
Potton to the services and support that they need. She visits her clients in their homes lo learn their needs
and to support them in attaining them. She also encourages them to Participate in activities that they
organise. The Community Agent and her small ne￿Ork of volunteers also provide tablet training where
required. The project as a whole has benefitted many of the older residents of Potton and the Trustees are
extremely pleased with the success of the project.
With the assistance of the Community Agent, a hardship scheme was set up that provides one hundred £50
Tesco vouchers that are issued lo families in need each winter.
The charity made lolal grants amounting to £163,310 cornpa￿d to £119,742 in the previous year
Fundraising actlvltles
The charity does not undertake any significant fundraising activities.
Investment performance
The charity's income from investments decreased from £172,829 10 £135,591. The value of the oharity's
investment portfoliohas also decreased by approximately 4.659% during the year.
FINANCIAL REVIEW
Investment policy and objectlves
Funds are principally invested in the Charity Official Investment Fund maintained by CCLA Investment
M8nagemenl Limrted. Finance is reviewed at every meeting from details of investments prepared by the Clerk
and sent to every trustee 10 days prior to each meeting.
FUTURE PLANS
It is the trustees, intention to ￿ntinUe to make Grants lo the local community based upon the income of the
Charity in the future.

As the charity trustee5 of the Trust you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance
the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 {'the Act'i.
I report in respect of my examination of the Trusts a¢¢ounts carried out under Section 145 of the Act and in
carrying out my examination I have followed all applicable Directions gwen by the Charity Commission under
Section 14515)(bl of the Aet.

I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come lo my attention in ￿nneCts0n
with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect..

ACCOUNTING POLICIES
Basis of preparlng the financial statements
The financial statements of the charty, which is a public benefit entity under FRS 102, have been
p￿Pared in accordance wth the Charities SORP IFRS 1021 'Accounling and Reporting by Charities..
Stslement of Recommended Practice applicable to charib'es preparing their accounts in accordance
with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS 1021
leffective 1 January 20191., Financial Reporting Stsndard 102 'The Financial Reporting Stsnd8rd
applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland, and the Charities Act 2011. The financial ststements have
been prepared under the historical cost convention, with the excepb'on of investments which are
included al market value, as modified by the revaluation of certain assets.

Incoming resources
Investment income and other incoming resources are recognised on a receivable basis.

Resources expended are recognised in the period in which they are incurred and are allocated lo the

Grants - these are only recognised in the accounts when a commitment has been made and there are
no conditions to be met relating to the grant which remain in the control of the charity.
Investment assets
Investment assets, other than properties. are included al market value and are valued annually.
Investment properties
Investment properties are professionally valued every five years. The last valuation was carried out on
31 March 2025
Taxation
The charty is exempl from tax on its charitable activities.
Fund a¢¢ounting
Unrestricted funds can be used in accordance wth the charitable objecb'ves at the discretion of the
trustees.
Reslricled funds can only be used for particular restricted purposes within the objects of the charity.
Reslriclions arise when specified by the donor or when fvnds are raised for particular reslricled
purposes.
