In accordancè with the Slalemenl of Re¢QMmer￿pd Pracllco, quotsd Investments have be¢n accounted for on 8
markot value basis.
The Trust Deed contslns no restrlctlons on the Charitable Tru8t'B power lo invest. The Investment strategy is set
by the TNslees for the medlum term and is revlewed on an annual basis.
The Trustees consider the income requirements, the risk profile and the inv$stment managerfs view of the
market prospects in the short and medium term. The Trustees h8Vg opled for an overall policy which st8ts3 that
the Trust Fund Is to be invested In low to medium rSsk Inveslm¢nls with a vSew to maintainlng capllal and Income
growth.
The value ol Investments held by the charity rgduced by £18,386 from £1,806,053 to £1,787,fje7 over the year

The funds of the Charitable Trust contlnue to produce sound investment Income for the future of th8
beneficiarie$ of the Trust.

The Trustees have revlewed the Charttable Trust's reserve policy whlch would requlre that reserve¥ of
approxlmataly £50,000 should be malntalnad to provide 8uffi¢l$nt funds lo cover governance, 8UPPOrt costs and
to respond to any emergency grant applicallons whlch may arise. Unr88lricled reserves al 31 July 2025 are

The Smllh {Ha1￿hl￿tle & Disldcll Charitable Trust Is ¢onsliluted under a Trust Deed dated 8 August 1961.
On 8 AugLJSt 1961 the original donors {Mildred Alberta Smith and Douglas Smlthl donated £50.000 to form the
Gharllable Trust and create a Trusl Fund.
The objects of the Charflable Trust are that the Trustees shall stand possessed of the capital and Income of th8
Trust Fund upon such charitable trusts and for such charflable purposes as they shall in their absolute and

ol each activity are made up of the total of direct costs and shared costs. includlng support costs

2.7 Fund accounting
General funds are unreslricled funds which aro available for use at the discretion of the Trustees in
furtherance of the genèral objectives of th@ Charity and whlch have not been deslgnated for other
pu￿0$88.
The Trust has a single expendable endowment. The Trust Deed provlde8 that both capital and
Income generated may be applled for charitable purposes al the dis¢relion of the Trustees. The deed
requests the Trustees to glve partlcular considerallon to charitable trusts and charitab19 purposes for
the benefit of the Inhabitants of Haltwhistl8 and its nelghbourhood.
