The trustees present thelr report and accounts forthe yearended 30 June 2024.
The accounts have been prepared in accordan￿ with the accounting policies Set out in note 1 to the
accounts and compty with the tNsVs deed of trus( applicable law and the requirements of the Statement
of Recommended Pract1￿ and the Financid Reporiing Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of
Ireland IFRS 102}.

There ts no chief executive officer for the charity. The IM)norary treasurer is responsible for accounting for
montes received and expended.
Details of the chaiitls bankers and of its independent examiner are set out on page 1. There are no
solkltors or finan¢ial advisers appointed by the charity.
Stru¢ture Governance and Fllana
ement
The charity was established by a deed of trust which was s￿311ed on the 27 Juty 1961. Trustees are
appointed by members of The Rotary Club of Famham by resolution. It is a requirement for a trustee lo
be a member of the Rotary Club of Farnham. Being a small charity ther8 ara no written procedures for
appointing truste8s. Members wtyjld sounded out regardtng Wil￿ngneSS trj act as a trustee. Ihfften a
person agr&ed to be a trustee thi5 would be considered by the club councli and recommended to
members for approval by resolu￿n. No other btxly Gan appoint a trustee.
Trustees may already be trustees of another charity and need no further training. The club has people
who are trustees of another charity. Any guidan￿ necessary for a new t￿￿tee to carry out hislher duties
would be given by the existing Irustees. The new trustee would be given a copy of Yhe Essential Trustee
- What you need to know. published by The Charity Commiss￿n.

Trustees may ke removed by resolution ot the dub for any reason which may appear to the club to bè
sufficient and without assigning any reason and whereupon the trustee so removed Shall for the purpose of
the exercise of the statutory power ofappointtng new trustees be deemed to be dead.
In the event of the club being dissofved or discontinued or of the dub resolving to discontinue The
Benevolent Fund the trustees shall hokl the Benevolent Fund upon trust to transfer the same and for the
au9mentation of the charity fund of any otFw Rotary Club being a fund establtshed solely for purposes which
are charitable at law or to any charitable instttution andlor pay and dtstribute or otherwise deal with the same
to and for the benèfit of such other charitable funds as the club shall direcl
Decisions on the amount and who should be given donations from the Gharity's fvnd are made by the
nembers of The Rotary Club of Famham by simple majority in a formal business meeting. Tru9tees sign

The charity is affil&ated with Rotary in GB and Ireland (RGBI) and Rotary Intemational, including The
Rotary Foundation. which ig an intemational ¢hathy Supporting world wide schemes for th8 benefit of
people in need.
The club may from time to agree wilti Tr Rotary Club of Famham Woyside to jolntly raise funds for
an agreed projeGt objeGtive andlor chaTity. It ￿raY also agree wilh another RGBI Club or overseas Club to
achleve an agreed objectivè.
The trustees have not identified any major risks to which the charity could be exFosed. The accounts of
The Benevolent Fund are examined annualty by an independent examiner. The bank a¢¢ount Is separate
from those of The Rotary Club of Famham.
Ob"eclive& and Aciivlties
The trustees may apply the income of The Benevolent FurKI to or for the relief of persons fina￿1allY
distressed and to or for the benefft of such charitable instriutions socleties and objects as the club shall
from time to time direct. Details of the &hievgJ Obj￿1¥eS for the year are set out below under the
heading Achievements and Performan
No financial obiecbves are setforthe charity. There ts no subsidiary undertaking ofthe Gharity.
The president of The Rotary Club of Famham may nominate Charities for fvnd raising during hislher term
of office. Suggestions to award other grants are made by members of the club. This may bè as a result of
a request from a person for a specific objective. Agreed requests are submitted to the club Council, and if
the CoLincil agrees, put to the members and a￿pted or rejected ty majority vote at a business meeting.
After the collection datss have been booked ￿rith the IcKal authority, decisions are made for the allocation
of funds from street collections to charities by the club.
Achievements and Perforniance
During the 12 month period ended 30 June 2024. the Club has raised over £25,6B8 (versus £17,765 in
the prevlous yearl by fundH[￿sIng activities and vduntary donattons from member5. £15,000 has been
dSstrlbuted to 23 charitable causes. The cost of fundralsEng In the year rose from £2,699 to £7,100 due to
the type of events held.
The charslies that were sent grants by the fijnd included Disability Challengers, Space2Grow, Kids Out.
Seeds for Development, End Polio Now, Rotary Foundation UK and several local charities.
In addition, the club supported a Golf Day in September 2023 for the Phyllis TuCk￿ell Hospice and raised
£1262 by holding 8 raffle and donating a prize to the aucllon {donations by participants were paid directly
to the Gharity conGerned and do not theref￿e appear in these accounts). A Bridge Lunch was held during
the year raising over £1600.

donations by the Club through the Rotary Club of Famham Benevolent Fund were therefore in excess of

The revenues are used to meet neets of whomever or whatever deemed necessary by the
members ol The Rotary Club of Famham and the trustees fTom time to tim8. There Is no deficit in the
fund. Tho charity is content with low bank ￿anCeS in the knowledge that tunds ralsed have been

The cbarity's pollcy Is to tKJld suffirient reseNes to ensure that it has enough resources to fund its
actlvilies.
The charty does not hold arty Investments or any property. The charity has rKI employees.
Plans tor Future Period
Fund-raising events are continually urKler review. The club wll continue to SUPPDrt the Phyllis Tuthell
HosFyce with their'Golf Day, and Chrisbnas Street co1thlior￿ Vlill continue to take Flace.
In addition, the Club will carry on r8isirwJ funds in various Ways for the benefit of deserviThJ causes locally
and ov8rs8&S.

I have completed my examination. I confirm that no Tr*ial matters have come to ry attention in
connection with the examination which give me cause to believe that in. any material respect
the accounting records were not kept in accordance wtth section 130 of the Charitbes Act or

accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any
