Activities
To relieve food poverty in our area (PL12, Parish of Landrake and St Erney in SE Cornwall) by providing emergency one-off and periodic food parcels.To help relieve financial hardship by providing advice, referral and signposting to relevant organisations.
Objects: (1) The Mission Of The Charity Is To Provide One-Off Emergency And Periodic Food Supplies To Recipients Who Have Applied Or Have Been Referred To US, Who Are Experiencing Food Poverty.the Charity Additionally Offers Additional Support By Way Of Advice, Signposting Or Referral To Other Agencies To Alleviate The Underlying Causes Of Food Poverty For Any Member Of The Community.(2) The Charity Is A Non-Profit Village Food Bank And Community Support Centre.(3) The Charity Has Historically Operated Out Of: St Michaels Church Parish Room And The Methodist Chapel, Landrake. The Principal Catchment Area For Charity Recipients Is The Parish Of Landrake And St Erney In South East Cornwall.(4) The Charity Is Known To (& Would Receive Referrals From) The Village School Headteacher, Local GP Surgeries, Age Concern And Other Local Charities Or Branches Of Outfits Such As Ssafa (The Armed Forced Charity).charity Recipients Maybe Referred From These Bodies Or May Self-Refer To The Charity.(a) Initial Or One-Off Emergency Food Supplies Will Be Provided Immediately A Referral Is Made To A Trustee.(b) Subsequent Periodic Food Support Will Require That All Referrals Are To Be Known By Two (Not Related) Trustees, See Safeguarding Policy. Recipients Are Encouraged To Seek Advice From The Welfare And Benefits Advice Offered.(c) Beneficiaries Are Reviewed Every 6 Months And If Their Situation Is Found To Be Improving They Will Be Offered Continued Support For 3 Months With Phased Levels Of Contribution To Support Their Budget Management Adjustment.
