Activities

We collaborate with other agencies (CBOs and NGOs), institutions (universities, seminaries), and individuals (professionals) in diverse localities, who are responding to the reality of children experiencing serious harm or threat due to accusations of witchcraft or belief in malevolent spiritual influence. We engage with the problems of (and seek to eliminate) harmful beliefs and practices.

Objects: To Promote The Human Rights Of Children, In Particular, Rights As Set Out In The UN Convention On The Rights Of The Child And Relating Articles In The United Nations And Regional Conventions, Charters, And Declarations; And In Associated National Domestic Legislation (Wherever Enacted Or Implemented) Around The World By Any Or All Of (But Not Limited To) The Following Means:• Monitoring Abuses Of Child Rights;• Obtaining Redress For The Victims Of Child Rights Abuse;• Relieving Need Among The Victims Of Child Rights Abuse;• Research Into Child Rights Issues;• Educating The Public About Child Rights, Human Rights, And Religion With A Particular Focus On Religious, Civic, And Community Leaders On The Subjects Of Child Development And Child Rights (Especially In Respect Of Safeguarding Children, And Of Addressing And Eliminating Harmful Practices Arising From Beliefs In Sorcery Or Witchcraft), And To Promote And Publish Research For The Public Benefit In All Aspects Of These Subjects;• Providing Technical Advice To Government, Religious, Civic, And Community Leaders On Child Rights Matters;• Contributing To The Sound Administration Of Child Rights Law;• Commenting On Proposed Child Rights Legislation;• Raising Awareness Of Child Rights Issues (With A Particular Focus On Harmful Practices Arising From Beliefs In Sorcery Or Witchcraft);• Promoting Public Support For Child Rights;• Promoting Respect For Child Rights Among Individuals And Corporations;• International Advocacy Of Child Rights;• Eliminating Infringements Of Child Rights.in Furtherance Of That Object But Not Otherwise, The Trustees Shall Have Power:to Engage In Political Activity Provided That The Trustees Are Satisfied That The Proposed Activities Will Further The Purposes Of The Charity To An Extent Justified By The Resources Committed And The Activity Is Not The Dominant Means By Which The Charity Carries Out Its Objects.noting That: Nothing In This Constitution Shall Authorise An Application Of The Property Of The CIO For The Purposes Which Are Not Charitable In Accordance With Section 7 Of The Charities And Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 And Section 2 Of The Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2008.
