Activities
The Afghanistan and South Asia Solidarity Network (ASASN) supports refugees, asylum seekers, and socially excluded communities through integration support, ESOL, citizenship, employability and life skills training, cultural events, and human rights education. We also relieve the needs of victims of human rights abuses through guidance, advocacy, and referrals to support services across the UK.
Objects: The Promotion Of Social Inclusion For The Public Benefit Among People Who Are Refugees And Asylum Seekers Of Afghan And South Asian Origin And Who Are Socially Excluded On The Grounds Of Their Social And Economic Position And Status, By Providing:• Education And Training In The English Language And In Vocational & Employment Skills;• Social And Recreational Facilities And Events Involving The Local Community;• Education To Such Persons On Their Human And Civil Rights Relevant To Their Immigration, Refugee Or Asylum Status;• And By Relieving The Needs Of Such Persons Who Have Been Or Who Are Victim Of Human Rights Abuses.to Advance The Education Of The Public In General About Issues Relating To Refugees And Those Seeking Asylum.nothing In This Constitution Shall Authorise An Application Of The Property Of The CIO For The Purposes Which Are Not Charitable In Accordance With [Section 7 Of The Charities And Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005] And [Section 2 Of The Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2008].
