Activities
Dementia & Music International was founded in 2026 to improve dementia care through the use of music. Music has been shown to have a beneficial effect at all stages of dementia and in all types of care settings. However, we know that access to music is very unequal globally. Dementia & Music International exists to overcome this inequity.
Objects: The Objects Of The CIO Are:to Promote And Protect The Health Of Older People And Relieve Conditions Of Old Age, In Particular Dementia, Through:a. Working Globally To Eradicate Inequalities In Access To Music As Therapy, Which Has Been Proven To Have A Beneficial Effect On Such Conditions;b. Fostering Knowledge Exchange Through Meeetings, Education And Training In Order To Reduce Inequality In Access To Music As Therapy For Such People; Andc. Promoting And Carrying Out For The Public Benefit Research And Disseminating The Useful Results Of Such Research Through Publication Or Otherwise.
