**Objects:** THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE, FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT:(A) TO ADVANCE EDUCATION IN RELATION TO NON-CONTACT SEXUAL OFFENCES, THEIR IMPACT, LAWFUL REPORTING PATHWAYS, AND THE PREVENTION OF VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN AND GIRLS;(B) TO PREVENT CRIME AND PROMOTE PUBLIC SAFETY BY INCREASING PUBLIC UNDERSTANDING OF NON-CONTACT SEXUAL OFFENCES AND SUPPORTING INFORMED AND CONSTRUCTIVE ENGAGEMENT WITH THE POLICE AND OTHER RELEVANT AUTHORITIES; AND(C) TO ADVANCE GOOD CITIZENSHIP BY PROMOTING SAFE, LAWFUL AND RESPONSIBLE BEHAVIOUR.IN FURTHERANCE OF THESE OBJECTS, THE CIO MAY DEVELOP AND PROVIDE BALANCED, EVIDENCE-BASED INFORMATION, EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS, TRAINING, AWARENESS CAMPAIGNS AND COMMUNITY INITIATIVES FOR THE BENEFIT OF CHILDREN, YOUNG PEOPLE, ADULTS AND COMMUNITIES IN THE UNITED KINGDOM AND THE BRITISH ISLES.

**Activities:** It Does Matter educates the public about non-contact sexual offences through national awareness programmes, evidence-based resources and training. We work across the UK with communities and stakeholder partners to improve understanding, empower safe reporting and promote safer behaviours.
