Activities

Waterways Chaplaincy offer support to those who use and live on the UKs waterways and canals. Chaplains are volunteers from local churches who regularly visit the waterways, offering companionship and a listening ear to individuals and businesses. Chaplains are interested in whoever they meet, sharing with people in good and bad times.

Objects: The Objects Of The CIO Are To Advance The Christian Faith With The Aim Of Bringing People To A Personal Faith In Jesus Christ By:3.1 Providing Trained Evangelists And Lay Agents (Including, But Not Limited To, Chaplains) To Assist The Advancement Of The Christian Religion; And3.2 Relieving Poverty And Distress, Including By (But Not Limited To) Providing Pastoral Care And Support, Particularly Among People Living Or Travelling On Or Around Canals And Waterways Across The Uk.nothing In This Constitution Shall Authorise An Application Of The Property Of The CIO For Purposes Which Are Not Charitable In Accordance With Section 7 Of The Charities And Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 And Section 2 Of The Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2008.
