The Charity has been set up to support the design and construction of a safe , multi user trail from Dartington to Buckfastleigh, passing through Dartington Estate , ancient woodland , along quiet lanes, across farmland , over medieval bridges to this gateway town to Dartmoor, It will be open to all and connect up National Cycle Routes. Once built the route will be maintained by volunteers.

Objects: The Objects Of The CIO Are:for The Public Benefit To Preserve Maintain And Develop The Dart Valley Cycle Trail(the Trail) As A Long-Distance Public, Free Of Charge, Access For All, Cycle And Walking Trail Between The Villages Of Dartington, Staverton And Buckfastleign With Further Extensions Over Time Including Neighbouring Parishes And Dartmoor National Park, So Securing The Trail As A Public Amenity And A Facility For Recreation And Other Leisure- Time Occupation In The Interests Of Social Welfare With The Object Of Improving The Conditions Of Life For The Public At Large.
