## **Objectives, activities and public benefit** 

The CIO exists to advance education for the public benefit by supporting and enhancing the educational experience and wellbeing of pupils at JCoSS, including by strengthening relationships between staff, parents and others associated with the school and by supporting activities, facilities and equipment. 

During the period the charity operated fundraising activities, including the preloved uniform scheme, supported school-community events and provided equipment and resources for the benefit of pupils. The trustees confirm that they have had regard to the Charity Commission's guidance on public benefit when making relevant decisions. 

## **Achievements and performance** 

This was the CIO's first reporting period. The charity established its operations, took over the remaining funds of the predecessor JPA, raised new funds and supported the school community. Funding during the period contributed to educational equipment, pupil wellbeing and parent-school engagement, while the preloved uniform scheme provided an affordable and sustainable service to families. 

## **Financial review and reserves** 

Receipts were £20,517, including £15,172 transferred from the predecessor JPA. Payments were £1,965. Closing unrestricted cash funds were £18,552 and the charity had no liabilities. 

The trustees aim to retain sufficient unrestricted reserves to support planned activities and provide continuity. The £18,552 held at 31 July 2026 was considered appropriate for a newly established charity preparing to fund future school activities. No funds were restricted, designated or otherwise committed at the year end, and the trustees are not aware of any material uncertainty affecting the charity's ability to continue operating. 

## **Plans for the future** 

The charity plans to continue fundraising, develop the preloved uniform scheme, support educational and wellbeing needs at JCoSS and strengthen engagement between parents and the school. 

## **Structure, governance and management** 

The charity is a foundation Charitable Incorporated Organisation governed by its constitution and registered on 8 January 2026. The trustees are also the members of the CIO. Trustees are recruited and appointed in accordance with the constitution, taking account of the skills, knowledge and experience needed for the effective administration of the charity. The CIO held no funds as custodian or holding trustee for another charity.

## **Notes** 

1. The accounts have been prepared on the receipts and payments basis. All funds at 31 July 2026 were unrestricted. 

2. The predecessor unincorporated JPA transferred its remaining funds to the CIO during the period. 

3. One trustee was reimbursed £826 for expenditure personally incurred on behalf of the charity. These were repayments of charity expenses and not remuneration or other trustee benefit.
