**Objects:** THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE TO RELIEVE THE CHARITABLE NEEDS OF INDIVIDUALS IN THE UNITED KINGDOM WHO HAVE LIVED EXPERIENCE OF HOMELESSNESS, WHO ARE HOMELESS, AT RISK OF HOMELESSNESS OR OTHERWISE VULNERABLE BY PROVIDING TRAINING, SKILLS DEVELOPMENT AND EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES IN THE RESTAURANT, CATERING, HOSPITALITY AND OTHER INDUSTRIES WHERE SUCH OPPORTUNITIES MAY ARISE.FOR THE PURPOSES OF THIS CONSTITUTION, ‘VULNERABLE PEOPLE’ INCLUDES INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE HOMELESS OR AT RISK OF HOMELESSNESS AND INDIVIDUALS WHO FACE SIGNIFICANT BARRIERS TO SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC PARTICIPATION, INCLUDING (BUT NOT LIMITED TO): PEOPLE EXPERIENCING POVERTY OR FINANCIAL HARDSHIP; THOSE WITH MENTAL HEALTH NEEDS; PEOPLE WITH SUBSTANCE MISUSE ISSUES; REFUGEES AND ASYLUM SEEKERS; SURVIVORS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE; PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES AND INDIVIDUALS LEAVING INSTITUTIONAL CARE SUCH AS PRISON, THE ARMED FORCES OR THE CARE SYSTEM.NOTHING IN THIS CONSTITUTION SHALL AUTHORISE AN APPLICATION OF THE PROPERTY OF THE CIO FOR THE PURPOSES WHICH ARE NOT CHARITABLE IN ACCORDANCE WITH [SECTION 7 OF THE CHARITIES AND TRUSTEE INVESTMENT (SCOTLAND) ACT 2005] AND [SECTION 2 OF THE CHARITIES ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 2008.

**Activities:** We recruit, train and employ people with lived experience of homelessness into fully paid kitchen and front of house roles in our own dedicated restaurant. Professional qualifications are also supported, with the aim of referring our recruits onwards to other potential employers and secure employment opportunities in the catering/hospitality industry.
