TO PROMOTE FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT THE PRESERVATION, MAINTENANCE, IMPROVEMENT AND RESTORATION THE ROLLE CANAL AS A PUBLIC AMENITY AND A FACILITY FOR RECREATION AND OTHER LEISURE-TIME OCCUPATION IN THE INTERESTS OF SOCIAL WELFARE WITH THE OBJECT OF IMPROVING THE CONDITIONS OF LIFE FOR THE PUBLIC AT LARGE.2. TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC IN THE HISTORY AND USE OF THE ROLLE CANAL AND WATERWAYS IN NORTH DEVON3. TO PROMOTE FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT THE CONSERVATION, PROTECTION AND IMPROVEMENT OF THE PHYSICAL AND NATURAL ENVIRONMENT OF THE CANALS IN NORTH DEVON AND NEAR ROLLE CANAL BY PROMOTING BIOLOGICAL DIVERSITY.

**Activities:** The Society aims to conserve, restore and maintain the Rolle Canal, a small tub boat canal which ran from Weare Giffard to Great Torrington in North Devon between 1827 and 1871.  Our key objective is to advance public education and awareness of the canal and other waterways in the area and the role they played in the industrial and economic development of North Devon.
