Go Overboard organises charity swims to raise funds to provide grants to charities promoting marine conservation, biodiversity, research, and sustainable practices; retain an emergency fund for ecological or environmental disaster relief; and support organizations aiding disadvantaged communities near areas of its fundraising swims.
Objects: The Objects Of The CIO, To Be Carried Out For The Public Benefit Through Grant-Making In Such Parts Of The World As The Trustees Shall Decide, Are:3.1.1 To Promote For The Benefit Of The Public The Conservation, Protection And Improvement Of The Physical And Natural Environment Through The Provision Of Grants To Charitable Organisations Established To Promote Marine Conservation And The Biodiversity Of Marine Life, And To Advance Education And Research (The Useful Results Of Which Will Be Published) In The Marine Environment, Marine Biodiversity And Sustainable Environmental Practices.3.1.2 To Assist With Ecological Or Environmental Emergencies And Disasters, Whether Man-Made Or Natural By Providing Grants To Charitable Organisations Working To Ensure That Assistance Is Provided Quickly During Times Of Crisis.3.1.3 The Relief Of People In Charitable Need, By Reason Of Youth, Age, Ill-Health, Disability, Financial Hardship Or Other Social Disadvantage By Providing Grants To Charitable Organisations Working To Assist Such People.
