Activities

We run community cooking workshops and shared meals in Preston to support migrants, refugees and disadvantaged residents. Through cookalongs, skills sessions and social activities, we build confidence, reduce isolation and help participants integrate, learn new skills and take part more fully in community life.

Objects: The Promotion Of Social Inclusion For The Public Benefit Among People Who Are Refugees And Asylum Seekers Or People Who Are Socially And Economically Disadvantaged In Preston Who Are Socially Excluded On The Grounds Of Their Social And Economic Position And Assisting Them To Integrate Into Society By: A) Providing Education And Training In The English Language (Esol Classes)b) Through Educational Workshops In Cookery, Horticulture A Nutrition For Integration With The Wider Communityc) Other Related Activities To Assist With Adapting Within A New Community.d) Raising Public Awareness Of The Lived Experiences And Issues Faced By Refugees And Those Seeking Asylum;for The Purpose Of This Clause Socially Or Economically Disadvantaged Means Anyone Who Lacks Opportunities Or Resources Meaning That They Require Support To Participate Fully In Society. This Would Specifically Mean Migrants And Refugees, Or Anyone Else, Who Are Excluded From Society, Or Parts Of Society, As A Result Of One Or More Of The Following Factors: Unemployment; Financial Hardship; Race; Gender; Poor Educational Or Skills Attainment; Disability; Ethnic Origin; Or Who Are Within, Or Have Experienced, The Public Care Or Penal System.
