**Objects:** FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT:(1) TO PROMOTE THE PRESERVATION, PROTECTION AND RESTORATION OF THE HISTORIC PARKLAND AT MOUNT EDGCUMBE IN SOUTH EAST CORNWALL AND THE HERITAGE ASSETS (THE STRUCTURES AND GRADE 1 DESIGNATED LANDSCAPE) IT CONTAINS, INCLUDING BY: (A) SUPPORTING THE RESTORATION OF THE DESIGNATED LANDSCAPE AND THE HISTORIC ASSETS IT CONTAINS; AND(B) ENCOURAGING PUBLIC ACCESS TO ALL AREAS OF THE DESIGNATED LANDSCAPE INCLUDING STRUCTURES AND OTHER HERITAGE ASSETS. (2) TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC IN THE HISTORY AND HERITAGE OF THE DESIGNATED LANDSCAPE BY:(A) PROMOTING THE CREATION OF A HERITAGE CENTRE FOR MOUNT EDGCUMBE;(B) ASSISTING IN THE REBUILDING OF AN APPROPRIATE ARCHIVE; (C) ORGANISING TALKS, LECTURES AND MEETINGS, TO INFORM THE PUBLIC OF THE RICH CULTURAL HERITAGE OF SAID SITE; AND(D) PUBLISHING RESEARCH PAPERS AND OTHER DOCUMENTATION THAT WILL BE DISSEMINATED FOR PUBLIC BENEFIT.

**Activities:** MERIT exists to support the restoration of the Grade I landscape at Mount Edgcumbe, to research and make available to the public the story of its past and to enhance public access to the many listed buildings and features it contains. It will achieve this by providing online resources, by publishing reports, by organising talks and by running a series of curated walks.
