Objects: (1) The Objects Of The CIO (The 'Objects') Are To Promote For The Public Benefit High Standards Of Ethical Conduct And Best Practice In Journalism And In The Editing And Publication Of News In The Print And Other Media, Having Regard To The Need To Act Within The Law And To Protect Freedom Of Expression, Diversity Of Opinion, Human Rights And Respect For The Personal Privacy Of Individuals. (2) Nothing In This Constitution Shall Authorise An Application Of The Property Of The CIO For Purposes Which Are Not Charitable In Accordance With Section 7 Of The Charities And Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 And Section 2 Of The Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2008.
