Activities, Achievements and Impact During the Reporting Period
During the reporting period, ANTHONY UDOKWU'S FOUNDATION-YAHWEH continued to deliver charitable activities focused on improving educational opportunities, providing financial assistance, and supporting disadvantaged individuals, including persons with disabilities in Nigeria.
A major area of the charity’s work was the provision of educational support through scholarship and student assistance programmes. The Foundation operated scholarship schemes for eligible students facing financial barriers to continuing their education. During the period, the charity provided scholarship support to students studying across various higher education institutions in Nigeria and across a range of disciplines, including Medicine and Surgery, Nursing Science, Pharmacy, Law, Engineering, Computer Science, Accountancy, Chemistry, Radiography, and other academic and professional courses.
The charity also continued support for existing scholarship beneficiaries from previous programme years. Continuation awards were reviewed through an eligibility assessment process to confirm that students remained enrolled and continued to meet programme requirements. The trustees monitored beneficiary progress and updated records where circumstances changed, including where students completed their studies or where support was no longer required.
In addition to scholarships, the Foundation operated a student stipend and financial assistance programme to provide regular support to beneficiaries experiencing financial difficulties while pursuing their education. The programme provided scheduled financial assistance to approved beneficiaries to help with essential educational and personal needs. The charity maintained records of applications, eligibility assessments, payment schedules, beneficiary communications, and payment confirmations to support transparency and accountability.
The Foundation also developed wider support initiatives, including disability support activities, welfare assistance, volunteer engagement, internship opportunities, and other community support programmes. A particular focus of the charity’s work has been supporting individuals with disabilities, including blind and visually impaired adults, by helping to improve access to opportunities, education, and essential assistance.
All charitable activities were delivered through structured processes, including beneficiary applications, reviews, record keeping, and financial monitoring. Overseas payments were managed through regulated financial services, with appropriate records maintained by the trustees to demonstrate responsible use of charitable funds.
During the period, the trustees continued to strengthen the charity’s governance arrangements, including maintaining beneficiary records, monitoring charitable expenditure, reviewing eligibility criteria, and ensuring that funds were applied in accordance with the charity’s objectives.
Through its scholarship, stipend, disability support, and welfare programmes, ANTHONY UDOKWU'S FOUNDATION-YAHWEH has continued to pursue its mission of reducing barriers to education and supporting individuals who require assistance to achieve their educational and personal development goals.
