Activities
Promotes equality and diversity for LGBTQIA Plus young adults (aged 16 to 30 years old) by conducting research, raising awareness, advocating inclusive policies, and tackling discrimination. Provides support to LGBTQIA Plus young adults through education, mentoring, skills workshops, and career advice to empower individuals, reduce unemployment, and promote social inclusion and well-being.
Objects: The Objects Of The CIO, Are:1. To Promote Equality And Diversity Among LGBTQIA+ Young Adults (Also Referred To As “Them” Or “They” Below) For The Public Benefit By:a. Conducting Or Commissioning Research Into Equality And Diversity And Publishing The Useful Results To The Public;b. Advancing Education And Raising Awareness In Equality And Diversity, Particularly Through Activities Such As Visits To Schools, Universities And Other Institutions, Educational Programmes, Social Media Campaigns, And Other Means Of Communications;c. Advocating For Inclusive Policies And Practices By Statutory Bodies, Organisations, Employers And Communities Through Guidance, Workshops And Schemes.d. The Elimination Of Discrimination On The Grounds Of Sexual Orientation, Gender Reassignment And/or Age In Recruitment Processes And The Workplace Through Employability Programmes.2. To Act As A Resource For LGBTQIA+ Individuals By Providing Advice And Assistance And Organising Education Programmes, Mentoring And Coaching, Career Advice, Skills Workshops And Other Activities As A Means Of:a. Advancing In Life And Helping Young People By Developing Their Skills, Capacities And Capabilities To Enable Them To Participate In Society As Independent, Mature And Responsible Individuals;b. Relieving Unemployment;c. Providing Recreational And Leisure Time Activity In The Interests Of Social Welfare For These People Who Have Need By Reason Of Their Youth, Poverty Or Social And Economic Circumstances With A View To Improving The Conditions Of Life Of Such Persons.d. Promoting Social Inclusion Among Those Who Are Socially Excluded Due To Discrimination On The Grounds Of Age, Sexual Orientation Or Gender Re-Assignment.
