**Objects:** THE OBJECT OF THE CIO IS TO RELIEVE THE NEEDS OF CARERS OVER THE AGE OF 18 IN THE NEWPORT AREA BY:-• PROVIDING SUPPORT, INFORMATION, GUIDANCE AND PRACTICAL ASSISTANCE; • PROMOTING THE HEALTH AND WELL-BEING OF CARERS; • PROMOTING PUBLIC AWARENESS OF THE NEEDS AND CONTRIBUTIONS OF CARERS; • WORKING WITH OTHER ORGANISATIONS AND AGENCIES TO IMPROVE SERVICES AND POLICIES FOR CARERS.

**Activities:** Providing information and support to unpaid Carers by1.  holding a weekly Carers drop-in centre;2. populating notice boards in GP surgeries and other venues;3. liaising with other statutory bodies and support groups;4. holding meetings for Carers with speakers from Health, Social Services and other bodies;5. organising activities to bring Carers together socially.
