TO PROMOTE FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE INHABITANTS OF BLACKBURN WITH DARWEN THE PROVISION OF FACILITIES OR SERVICES FOR RECREATION OR OTHER LEISURE TIME OCCUPATION OF INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE IN NEED BY REASON OFTHEIR YOUTH, AGE, INFIRMITY OR DISABLEMENT, FINANCIAL HARDSHIP OR SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC CIRCUMSTANCES OR FOR THE PUBLIC AT LARGE IN THE INTERESTS OF SOCIAL WELFARE AND WITH THE OBJECT OF IMPROVING THECONDITION OF LIFE OF THE SAID INHABITANTS.2. TO PROMOTE EQUALITY AND DIVERSITY FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT IN BLACKBURN WITH DARWEN, IN PARTICULAR BY:(A) THE ELIMINATION OF DISCRIMINATION ON THE GROUNDS OF RACE, GENDER AND DISABILITY; (B) ADVANCING EDUCATION AND RAISING AWARENESS IN EQUALITY AND DIVERSITY;(C) PROMOTING ACTIVITIES TO FOSTER UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN PEOPLE FROM DIVERSE BACKGROUNDS; (D) CULTIVATING A SENTIMENT IN FAVOUR OF EQUALITY AND DIVERSITY; AND3.
