**Objects:** THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE:(1) THE PROMOTION OF KNOWLEDGE AND APPRECIATION BY THE PUBLIC OF DRAMA AND OF THE WORKS OF SHAKESPEARE IN PARTICULAR, AND POETRY GENERALLY, WITHIN THE AREA OF RICHMOND UPON THAMES;(2) IN FURTHERANCE OF THE ABOVE OBJECT, BUT NOT OTHERWISE, THE CIO SHALL HAVE POWER TO ENGAGE IN THE PRODUCTION OF SHAKESPEAREAN AND OTHER DRAMATIC WORKS FOR THE PURPOSE OF FULFILLING THE FIRST STATED OBJECT;(3) THE ENCOURAGEMENT AMONGST MEMBERS OF THE CIO AND OF THE PUBLIC AT LARGE OF THE STUDY AND DISCUSSION OF THE WORKS AND HISTORICAL BACKGROUND OF SHAKESPEARE; AND (4) THE STUDY AND TEACHING OF ALL OR ANY MATTERS RELATING TO AMATEUR THEATRE.
