Activities

We promote the conservation of badgers, their setts and habitats in West Kent and neighbouring areas. Activities include recording badger setts, sightings and reporting wildlife crime. We provide a badger rescue service. We liaise with professionals and the public to resolve badger issues.

Objects: To Promote The Conservation And Protection Of Badgers For The Public Benefit In West Kent And The Surrounding Area, In Particular By:a) Protecting Badgers And Their Habitats From Harm, Disturbance, And Illegal Activities, Ensuring Their Long-Term Survival And The Preservation Of Healthy Ecosystems;b) Educating The Public About Badger Conservation, The Ecological Importance Of Badgers, And The Legal Protections Afforded To Them Under National And International Wildlife Laws; C) Raising Awareness Of The Threats Faced By Badgers, Such As Habitat Loss, Climate Change, And Human-Wildlife Conflict, And Promote Responsible Behaviour Toward Wildlife; D) Conducting And Supporting Research Projects That Enhance Understanding Of Badger Populations, Behaviour, Health, And Conservation Needs, Publishing The Useful Results Of Such Research; E) Engaging In Monitoring Activities That Track The Health And Distribution Of Badger Populations, Providing Valuable Data For Conservation Efforts And Policy Influence; F) Collaborating With Wildlife Rescue Centres, Veterinary Professionals, And Animal Welfare Organisations To Ensure Proper Care For Badgers In Distress;g) Securing Funding For Badger Welfare And Conservation Projects Through Donations, Grants, And Fundraising Events, Ensuring That Financial Resources Are Used Effectively To Fulfil The Group’s Mission H) Distributing Resources For Wildlife Protection Programs, Educational Materials, And Research Focused On Badger Conservation; I) Fostering Community Involvement In Badger Welfare Efforts By Recruiting, Training, And Supporting Volunteers Who Assist In Monitoring, Fundraising, Education, And Rescue Activities;j) Creating Partnerships With Local Communities, Schools, And Organisations To Encourage A Greater Collective Responsibility For Badger Protection; K) Providing Advice And Guidance Where Badgers May Be Inhabiting Areas In Close Proximity To The Public; L) Providing Additional Support For Similar Animal Conservation Groups Operating Within (or In Close Proximity To) The West Kent Area Where The Objectives Of The Said Group Do Not Conflict With The Objectives Of This Group.
