Operating in the United Kingdom, The Blackeye Rugby Fund provides public benefit by advancing health, relieving financial hardship and advancing the sport of rugby. It aims to assist current or former rugby players and others, involved or previously involved in the sport, in relief and recovery from, ill health and/or the consequences of injury. It also seeks to fund research that reduces risk.

Objects: The Overarching Purpose Of The Blackeye Rugby Fund Is In Providing Public Benefit By Advancing Health, Relieving Financial Hardship And Advancing The Amateur Sport Of Rugby Through The Following Objects:(a.) To Assist Current Or Former Rugby Players And Other Individuals, Involved Or Previously Involved In The Sport Of Rugby, For The Relief Of And Recovery From, Ill Health And/or The Consequences Of Injury; Irrespective Of The Circumstances Under Which, Such Illnesses Or Injuries Might Have Occurred. Such Assistance May Be Provided Through (But Is Not Limited To) The Following Means;- By Promoting And Protecting Physical And Mental Health Through The Funding Of Relevant Research And Support Of Related Initiatives That Aim To Reduce Risk And Thus Make The Sport Of Rugby Safer.- Through The Provision Of Financial Assistance, Education And Practical Advice Including, Where IT Is Deemed Necessary, Direction To Other Relevant Organisations And Charities.(b.) Through Providing Financial Assistance To Relieve Hardship Among Former Players Or Other Individuals Previously Involved, In The Sport Of Rugby. (C.) To Advance The Amateur Sport Of Rugby For The Public Benefit By Providing Such Financial Or Other Assistance For The Provision, Establishment, Development, Improvement Or Repair Of Facilities For Participation In The Playing Of The Sport.in These Objects The Term ‘Players’ Refers Predominantly To Individuals Who:- Currently Or Have Previously Played Rugby At International Level Anywhere In The World (Whether Paid Or Unpaid To Do So).- Currently Or Have Previously Been Professionally Employed Or Contracted To Play The Sport Of Rugby Anywhere In The World. - Currently Or Have Previously Played The Sport Of Rugby As An Amateur, Irrespective Of Grade Or Level, Anywhere In The World.the Term ‘Other Individuals Involved Or Previously Involved In The Sport Of Rugby’ Refers To Those Who Have Or May Have Managed, Coached, Developed Or Administered The Sport, Irrespective Of The Grade Or Level, Or Whether They Were Paid Or Unpaid To Do So. The Term ‘Rugby ’ (As Used Throughout These Objects), Means The Sport Of Rugby Union Played Pursuant To Laws, Regulations And Byelaws Issued By World Rugby And Updated From Time To Time By Them.
