Activities

We rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome neglected hamsters across England and Wales. Operating via a network of foster homes, we provide veterinary treatment and sanctuary for animals with complex needs. We advance animal welfare by educating the public on proper husbandry and strictly vetting adopters to ensure high standards of care for every rescue.

Objects: The Objects Of The CIO Are:(1) For The Benefit Of The Public To Relieve The Suffering Of Hamsters In The UK In Need Of Care And Attention And, In Particular, To Provide Initial Shelter, Medical Care And Rehabilitation, Whilst Locating Suitable Permanent Responsible Homes, Or Providing Lifelong Specialist Care For Hamsters Who Require IT.(2) To Promote Humane Behaviour Towards Hamsters By Providing Appropriate Care, Protection, Treatment And Security For Hamsters Which Are In Need Of Care And Attention By Reason Of Sickness, Maltreatment, Poor Circumstances Or Ill Usage And To Educate The Public In Matters Pertaining To Hamster Welfare In General And The Prevention Of Cruelty And Suffering Among Hamsters.
