**Objects:** THE OBJECT OF THE CIO IS:TO PRESERVE AND MAINTAIN FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT, MALMESBURY TOWN DEFENCES AND TO ADVANCE EDUCATION IN THEIR HISTORY, HERITAGE AND IMPORTANCE, IN PARTICULAR BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY BY:A) WORKING WITH COMMUNITY GROUPS AND VOLUNTEERS TO UNDERTAKE AND ENCOURAGE THE ARCHAEOLOGICAL PRESERVATION AND MAINTENANCE OF MALMESBURY TOWN DEFENCES;B) ARRANGING TALKS, EVENTS AND GUIDED TOURS TO PROVIDE INTERPRETATIONS NEAR THE WALKWAYS OF THE SITE;C) PROVIDING INFORMATION BOARDS, LEAFLETS AND PUBLICATIONS;D) PROVIDING GRANTS OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO PROMOTE RESEARCH, THE USEFUL RESULTS OF WHICH WILL BE PUBLISHED, INTO THE HISTORY, HERITAGE AND ARCHAEOLOGICAL IMPORTANCE OF MALMESBURY TOWN DEFENCES.FOR THE PURPOSES OF THIS CLAUSE ‘MALMESBURY TOWN DEFENCES’ MEANS THE ARCHAEOLOGICAL REMAINS OF THE TOWN WALLS AND DEFENCES OF MALMESBURY WILTSHIRE IN PARTICULAR THE SCHEDULED MONUMENT SECTIONS AND THE ‘NUN'S WALK’.

**Activities:** The charity helps to preserve and advocate for both the heritage above and bellow ground that makes up the defences of Malmesbury.  We also promote and educate the public about this important heritage of the town.
