We provide services for people experiencing disadvantages of various kinds and to promote equality, diversity and inclusion amongst the people of Stockport.

Objects: The Objects Of The CIO Are:(1) To Relieve The Needs Of People In Stockport And The Surrounding Area Who Are In Need By Reason Of Their Youth, Age, Infirmity Or Disablement, Financial Hardship Or Social And Economic Circumstances By Providing Support And Activities Designed To Relieve Their Needs And Develop Their Skills, Capacities And Capabilities. (2) To Promote Equality And Diversity For The Public Benefit In Stockport And The Surrounding Area, In Particular By:(a) The Elimination Of Discrimination On The Grounds Of Race And Gender;(b) Advancing Education And Raising Awareness In Equality And Diversity; (c) Promoting Activities To Foster Understanding Between People From Diverse Backgrounds; And (d) Cultivating A Sentiment In Favour Of Equality And Diversity; And (3) To Promote For The Benefit Of The Inhabitants Of Stockport And The Surrounding Area The Provision Of Facilities Or Services For Recreation Or Other Leisure Time Occupation Of Individuals Who Are In Need By Reason Of Their Youth, Age, Infirmity Or Disablement, Financial Hardship Or Social And Economic Circumstances Or For The Public At Large In The Interests Of Social Welfare And With The Object Of Improving The Condition Of Life Of The Said Inhabitants. (4) The Promotion Of The Efficiency And Effectiveness Of Charities And The Effective Use Of Charitable Resources For The Public Benefit In Stockport And The Surrounding Area By Providing Free Support And Advice To Registered Charities, Voluntary And Not For Profit Organisations With A Focus On Fundraising And Good Governance Designed To Help Them Increase In Growth, Scale And Capacity For Beneficial Impact.for The Purposes Of This Clause:'charities' Are Organisations, Which Are Established For Exclusively Charitable Purposes In Accordance With The Law Of England And Wales;'voluntary And Not For Profit Organisations' Are Independent Organisations, Which Are Established For Purposes That Add Value To The Community As A Whole, Or A Significant Section Of The Community, And Which Are Not Permitted By Their Constitution To Make A Profit For Private Distribution. Voluntary Organisations Do Not Include Local Government Or Other Statutory Authorities.
