## Activities

**Objects:** 1) TO RELIEVE SUFFERING AND DISTRESS AMONGST PERSONS ENDANGERED BY ACCIDENTS OR NATURAL HAZARDS, BY THE PROVISION AND MAINTENANCE OF A TRAINED RESCUE TEAM TO OPERATE THROUGHOUT THE OPERATIONAL AREA OF THE CIO OR ANY OTHER PLACE IF SO REQUESTED BY OTHER AGENCIES SUCH AS POLICE, AMBULANCE, FIRE, DEFRA OR MOUNTAIN/LOWLAND RESCUE TEAMS; AND (2) TO PROMOTE SAFETY IN THE OUTDOORS

**Activities:** Penrith MRT provides a search and rescue service for climbers and fellwalkers in the NE corner of the Lake District and Cumbria. In addition, the team is available to assist the statutory emergency services in any way they can. This service is offered free, 24 hours a day and 365 days of the year.
